What makes Korean hard to transcribe

Korean is written in Hangul with spaces, but spacing rules are notoriously inconsistent even among native writers, so it is scored by character error rate alongside the space-free languages. Verb endings also shift with formality level, and the same sentence can end half a dozen different ways depending on who is being addressed.

How accurate to expect

Broadcast and presentation Korean transcribes well. Casual speech among friends, where particles are dropped and endings shorten, is measurably harder.

What usually needs fixing

2. 2 English loanwords rendered in Hangul, where several spellings are in common use for the same word.
3. 3 Speech level shifts mid-conversation, which are correct as transcribed but can look inconsistent in a formal document.

Getting better results

• → English loanwords are extremely common in Korean business speech and come out in Hangul, not Latin script.
• → If the recording mixes formal and casual registers, the transcript follows the speaker rather than picking one style.
